took some photos today, about time!!!

heres the steps i took to process the photo :)

the original photo, natual light with a 50mm lens.

since i don’t have photoshop, i use picasa to do most of the work. i turned the photo black and white and darkened the shadows quite a bit.

i downloaded a texture from a user on flickr. i applied the texture using GIMP photo manipulator! and this is the result:

the texture gives the photo a lot more depth and makes it a bit more emotional.

ps. i wanted to wear black, but don’t really have that much black to wear so i took one of my fiance’s shirts and put my legs through the collar and tied the bottom of the shirt around me and held it together with a hair tie. you can’t even tell!! hehehe

4: Little

I was looking on Scott’s computer and found these :)

i think this was the second time he came to visit, march 2006 :)

from the first visit, im pretty sure. i used to live on that street =] that night we took a walk with roxy and it was sooo gorgeous out.

first visit december 2005, i was only 16!!! he was only 19!! and we look horrible because it was our last day together before he went back to OK. lots of tears =[

we have come a long way :) im so happy we are together!

3: Before & After

this should have been a pretty easy photo shoot but my bad hair day was making it horribly difficult, and i had absolutely no energy to fix it. i think this photo could have been way better, mainly my facial expression. but this has me satisfied enough anyway. natural lighting, just had a little sunlight peeking through a sheet over the window.. i am anti flash as often as possible.

as you can see the before is a lot clearer and the tones are really cold. i warmed up the photo a little by adding a texture and adjusting the tones. and obviously, i cropped it!

2: Behind The Scenes

hellos :) so this is the second time Scott and i have attempted the “fort” photo shoot. the first attempt was okay but i couldn’t get the shot i wanted. so we made a better fort the next night and tried again.. success!! it was so much fun. we laughed the whole time. you may have already seen the shot i uploaded on flickr.. but i thought i’d post some behind the scenes because they make me laugh sooo much :P hope you enjoy them!!

ps. roxy is in these pictures! haha.. she layed down right in the front and wouldn’t get out of the way, so we covered her with the gingham blanket =]

1: To Kansas City

hello :)

so on monday april 13th scott and i ventured out of oklahoma for a concert in kansas city.. to see MATES OF STATE!!!!

they were so good, so much chemistry between them!! and right before the show i said to scott: i hope they play my only offer!!!! (i love that song!) and guess what.. it was the first song they played!! hehe. it was like magic.

kansas city is about 4 hours away from where we live, and we did it all in one day, so it was a bit exhausting. but worth it! i drove most of the way there (until the roads got confusing) and we stopped at the [former] biggest mcdonalds. i didn’t get any photos of the show (because i didn’t know if they allowed them in the venue, only to find out later THEY DID!) but i got some silly not-good-enough-for-flickr photos :]

as you can see… WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!! and didn’t get back until 4am. and i was on the verge of getting sick with a cold. and scott had to go home to his computer to finish a paper for school before he went the next day. we are both still recovering :-)
